In January 2015, I chose to eliminate gluten, dairy and refined sugars from my diet. I chose to call this new lifestyle The Fittrio (The Fit Trio). As a result of changing my eating habits, I started to feel more energized from the inside out. This is what I refer to as being fit, but it’s a little more complicated than that. There’s no single definition that determines whether or not an individual is fit. To me, being fit has everything to do with my mood, thoughts, mental state, physical state, energy levels, and physical activity. The trio part comes from the three food groups I chose to eliminate from my diet: gluten/wheat, cow’s milk dairy, and refined sugars.
